Uncharted

One of the top developers behind Uncharted: The Lost Legacy has left developer Naughty Dog to take on new and potentially heroic challenges.

Lost Legacy writer and creative director Shaun Escayg recently announced on Twitter that he has left Naughty Dog, bidding farewell to his fellow developers and reminiscing about the studio’s critically acclaimed projects.

Regarding what’s next for Escayg, the developer is expected to be moving over to Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics to work on the studio’s upcoming Avengers project. This speculation is based on an Avengers logo that Escayg posted to his Instagram, with only the caption of “To new adventures–bring it 2018!” as an explanation. Then again, maybe he’s just going to start fighting crime.

It seems equally likely that Escayg could take another position at Crystal Dynamics, too, as the studio recently lost Rise of the Tomb Raider game director Brian Horton to PlayStation’s upcoming Spider-Man game. Apparently Marvel titles are pulling in all the good talent lately.

Nick didn’t start gaming until mid-2006. Once his parents finally allowed a console into the house, it was all uphill from there. Starting out with a PS2, he grew an affinity for Sony consoles and moved on to the PS3, and now the PS4. He keeps his gaming palette wide, but, gun to his head, he’d have to say shooters are his genre of choice. Find him on Twitter @idole808
