An unreleased Saints Row title for the PSP has been revealed in playable form and will get further exposure in a Volition live stream next week.

The title had two possible designations, Saints Row Undercover or Saints Row: The Fall, and it originally began as a handheld port of Saints Row 2. The title was cancelled in 2009 after Volition and the out-of-house studio aiding the development decided work on the game was not hitting the standard they desired.

The game was fairly far along in the development process, with functioning menu screens, basic character customization, and a large portion of open world that players could interact with.

The video above serves as a teaser for an upcoming Volition livestream during which the developers will play the abandoned project. The teaser video doesn’t show a ton of the game itself but does include a number of developer anecdotes about the process of convincing higher-ups to allow the project to be revealed.

The stream will go live January 28th at 2 p.m. PT, 5 p.m. ET on Volition’s official Twitch channel, where fans will be able to chat with developers live as they play.
