THE BUZZ: Looking forward to Assassin’s Creed III, but want to get your hands on a sweet special edition of the game? A few new details about such releases have now hit.

EGM’s TAKE: UK website Eurogamer brings word about how you’ll be able to get your hands on one of the special editions.

The previously-revealed Freedom Edition of Assassin’s Creed III will be exclusive to GameStop. The Freedom Edition will feature a Connor figurine, a steel book case, an exclusive lithograph, George Washington’s notebook (which contains “revealing all the truth & secrets about the Assassins and the Templars during the American Revolution”), and two bonus single-player stages: Lost Mayan Ruins and Ghost of War.

Meanwhile, recently beleaguered retailer GAME will actually be playing host to the Assassin’s Creed III GAME Exclusive Edition, which will include the exclusive single-player mission A Dangerous Secret, along with the flintlock musket as a bonus weapon.

If you sometimes having trouble keeping track of all of the various options that are available for purchasing games such as Assassin’s Creed III, don’t feel bad—I do this for a living, and even I get confused by the sometimes ridiculous amount of retailer-exclusive editions.

Update: We previously incorrectly stated that the Freedom Edition would be available in the United States. That edition of Assassin’s Creed III will only be offered at GameStop in the UK.
