Uplay PC 4.0 Adds New Social Wall Features, Twitch TV Streaming This October

Posted on September 19, 2013 AT 11:30am

Uplay 4.0 will launch for Windows PC this October, bringing with it Twitch TV streaming services, Ubisoft announced today.

In addition to Twitch TV video support, Uplay 4.0 will also boast an “improved download manager” designed for progressive game downloads and auto-patching. This means that if you purchase a game a few months after its launch, Uplay will automatically update it with all relevant patches from the get-go—before you try to play—so prevent interruption when starting up a game.

On the social side of things, a new “Social Wall” will help net all your Uplay friends’ activities into one convenience place—because Ubisoft knows you’re just inundated with Uplay friend activity. The Social Wall lets you knowe what friends are online or offline, what games they’re playing, and whether they’re streaming the session.

The company also confirmed that Uplay and Uplay-enabled games would be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
