Vengeance Pack soon to expand the world of Crimson Alliance

THE BUZZ: Released earlier this month for the Xbox Live Arcade, Crimson Alliance is a single- and multiplayer action RPG that provided something of a first for Microsoft’s service: You can purchase the game for different price points depending on the level of content that you want.
To extend that idea, that game’s creator Certain Affinity announced today that an upcoming DLC “Vengeance Pack” will hit for Crismon Alliance on October 12th for 240 MS Points. As part of the Vengeance Pack, players will be able to expand the world that’s available to them for multiplayer adventuring with friends.
“From the start we wanted to keep the adventure going by giving players new places to explore with their friends,” said Certain Affinity’s president Max Hoberman. “When we finished the game back in May we had a few months to wait before the Summer of Arcade was over. So we devoted ourselves to building the kind of maps that we wanted to play: fiendishly difficult ones that are perfect for co-op.”
In addition to the new time-based campaign levels, the Vengeance Pack will also include a new Challenge Map called “Fistful of Coins” (which sounds like a Horde mode of sorts), as well as new loot, enemies, and challenges for the overall game.
EGM’s TAKE: A DLC pack for an Xbox Live Arcade game that just hit less than a month ago initially makes me feel a little nervous. Hopefully Mr. Hoberman’s statement is correct, and this really was something the company put together in their spare time after they considered the main game finished. The world of retail games coming out with DLC soon to follow already bothers me enough—the last thing I want to see is that gameplan coming to the downloadable space.
