Very Impressive Trailer For Upcoming PC Game Reset

Theory Interactive has released a first trailer for their debut game Reset—and it’s quite a stunning video.
No, this isn’t just some CG scenes thrown together, or a “this is what we’d like to do” presentation—the developer says it’s footage completely from the in-game engine.
“We are very proud to present the debut trailer for Reset. Everything you see in the trailer is straight from the in-game engine, no up-ressed textures, geometry or effects. What you see is what you will get. Except hopefully a little bit better since we’re not even in alpha yet. This is however a big milestone for us, and we are going to be concentrating more on the gameplay side of things next.”
Reset is explained as a single player co-op first person puzzle game, one which has “a strong emphasis on story and atmosphere.” In Reset, you’ll be able to travel back in time to solve puzzles co-operatively—co-operatively with yourself, that is. How will that work? That we don’t know yet—but it does sound like an interesting proposition.
Could the next generation of consoles reach a level of graphics along these lines? If so, I might have to change my tune about being able to wait another couple of years—I want console games that look like this post-haste.
