VGA Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6: Patriots Trailer

Posted on December 10, 2011 AT 06:42pm

THE BUZZ: The first trailer for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6: Patriots dropped on tonight’s VGA Awards like a bomb. A bomb strapped to a banker to be precise.

The trailer features an office invasion in what looks like New York City. A group of armed men break in and capture a corporately dressed gentleman in a suit. They condemn him for his business practices, strap a bomb on his torso and shove him out a window. As he falls in terror to the streets below a man watches, and just before the banker goes splat the man hits the detonator. The bomb explodes scattering cars along with with the body parts.

EGMs TAKE: This one looks brutal boys and girls. The game seems to be asking, what happens when Americans get tired of our current economy and political in-fighting and start fighting back? It looks like this one will be as much a cautionary tale as a game.

Marc Camron is pleased to finally get a little bit of time to enjoy new games this holiday season, even if Batman: Arkham Knight isn't one of them. The rest of the time will be spent getting ready for CES in Vegas, starting on January 5th. At least it should be warmer there than in Colorado.
