THE BUZZ: The next chapter of From Software’s heavy mec combat franchise Armored Core is coming soon, and today Namco Bandai gives us a video look at some of the game’s multiplayer options.

EGM’s TAKE: I remember when From Software was best known among many fans out there for this series, and Demon’s Souls was “that weird new game from the Armored Core guys”. Now, I see Armored Core V being hailed as “from the team that brought you Dark Souls”. How times have changed!

Anyhow, I’ve never really gotten into any of these mechanized armored robot games, but have always wondered about them. Where would I start? I know I always had an interest in Capcom’s Steel Battalion, all because of that crazy huge controller.

What about Armored Core? Would this be a good series to get into? So far, Armored Core V isn’t looking too shabby, and From Software does have a lot of good will with me now thanks to Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls.

Any of you out there Armored Core fans? Any advice if I’m curious to try out the series (or the genre in general)?
