THE BUZZ: Two interesting videos here for all of the Minecraft fans out there.
First up is a video by sock4lops on YouTube for “The End”, the mysterious new dimension that’s being added to Minecraft. The End—previously known as the Ender—is the strange dimension that the game’s newest additions, the Endermen, come from. The End is looking to be a rather bizarre place, even keeping in mind that many elements will no doubt be touched up before this world is considered to be final.
The other inhabitant of The End is the rare Enderdragon, the subject of the second video here. The Enderdragon looks to be an amazing addition to the game, but the video—coming from Minecraft creator Notch—shows why he wouldn’t exactly work outside of The End.
EGM’s TAKE: I’ve got to say—I think Notch should fix up the dragon’s collision detection and put him out into the world. Can you image how utterly terrifying it would be to have that thing flying around, breathing fire at will? Oh man.
It’s been a number of versions since I last really sat down and played Minecraft, but it’s getting to the point where I’m just about ready to jump back in. I’m loving all of these “Adventure Update” additions, as I always wanted more “living world” elements added to the game.
