THE BUZZ: Visceral Games—developer of acclaimed survival horror game Dead Space—is currently working on a brand new IP according to a recent job advert.

EGM’s TAKE: The game is described as a ”thrilling online action shooter” with it being the ”cornerstone for a new EA Games Studio.” A successful candidate will work on maps for the new title, while mentoring other designers. The advert reads:

“EA is looking for a lead multiplayer designer to help create a thrilling online action shooter game. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a bold new franchise which is a cornerstone for a new EA Games Studio.”

An interesting twist, considering that Visceral are apparently knee deep in a new Dead Space title according to reports—with the new game said to be set on a planet called Tau Volantis, and Isaac Clarke being tormented by a split personality. Could this be a break-away studio under the same name, allowing the team to split resources across multiple titles? We’ll have to wait for an official announcement to find out, but don’t expect it any time soon if they are still staffing up.
