In case you haven’t checked since last night, the Vita has now received a new 2.01 firmware update. While the fix is small, it’s very important.
When Sony introduced Vita firmware 2.00, the magical world of PlayStation Plus came along with it. Unfortunately, the option to back up your game saves to your PS+ cloud storage wasn’t properly working; saves could be manually uploaded, but automatic uploading wasn’t working.
Now, thanks to 2.01, you can set whatever game saves you want to have automatically back up, and the process will actually work. Especially given the somewhat complex system for data files that the Vita employes, I am now sleeping sounder at night knowing my precious saves are safe.
