Vlambeer’s Nuclear Throne—formerly titled Wasteland Kings—is now available for purchase through Steam Early Access, the developer announced.
Nuclear Throne is a top-down “roguelike-like” shooter about mutants who can mutate new limbs—which server as weapons—on the fly surviving a post-apocalyptic nightmare world. The build currently available on Steam Early Access contains four playable worlds, seven playable characters, two bossfights, and “a huge range of weapons, skills, and randomly generated goodness.”
The full launch will add four more worlds, as well as secret worlds to explore, “both on Earth, other planets, and other dimensions,” along with additional characters, B-skins, Dangerous Crown Vaults that contain game-changing modifiers, and the titular Nuclear Throne itself (whatever that is, exactly).
“By buying Nuclear Throne you can support Vlambeer and the rest of the team while they’re working and livestreaming the development of the game,” reads the Nuclear Throne Steam description. “You’ll receive a new build of Nuclear Throne pretty much every week. After launch, when all the live development is over, the game will be available for slightly less than the Early Access price.”
Developer Vlambeer’s previous work includes the wildly popular iOS title Ridiculous Fishing. They are also developing Luftrausers, an arcade fighter plane shooter, for the PS3, Vita, PC, Mac, and Linux.
