For those PlayStation players envious of the Xbox versions of World of Tanks, Wargaming’s mega-popular heavy combat game is finally coming to the PS4—and it’s getting an open beta very soon.

How soon? December 4th, to be exact. In a nice change of pace from some other betas, you won’t need to jump through any hoops in order to get in and give the game a go—just head to the PlayStation Store on that day, download the game, and get to tankin’.

All progress and experience from the open beta will be transferrable to the full version of the game, and any PS4 owners participating in the beta will get a few special bonuses. Just for downloading the game, you’ll earn a premium tank; play during the open beta weekend, and you’ll get a second special tank—the M22 Locust.

“World of Tanks on PS4 will continue to have exclusives at launch, like custom and earnable free Girls und Panzer content (hint, think tank),” project lead TJ Wagner writes in the PlayStation Blog announcement. “There will be two PS4 exclusive maps at launch including the biggest map ever made for World of Tanks.”

When “launch” is still hasn’t been announced, but unless we’re going to get a Christmas surprise, I’d expect World of Tanks PS4 to hit sometime in early 2016.
