A trademark for “Warlords of Draenor” filed by Blizzard Entertainment in both New Zealand and Australia hint at the next possible expansion for World of Warcraft, MMO Champion reports.
Filed November 1, the trademark is for “computer game software, computer game discs, downloadable computer game software, computer game software downloadable from a global computer network, interactive multimedia computer game program; downloadable electronic game software for use on portable electronic devices such as mobile and cellular phones, laptops, handheld computers, and tablet PCs” and makes mention of online connectivity.
In World of Warcraft, Draenor is the orcs homeworld, the last refuge of the draenei before they came to Azeroth, and the set piece for the Burning Crusade expansion.
If history repeats itself—and often it does—this trademark discovery, web domain registration, then reveal pattern should mirror Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, which was revealed in the same fashion earlier this year.
Blizzcon 2013 kicks off this weekend in Anaheim, California, and would serve as the perfect venue for an announcement such as this.
