Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will be handling distribution of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in North America, the company announced today.
“Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is an extremely valuable partner for us because of their experience and established position on the American market, which is crucial to CD Projekt’s further rapid development,” said Adam Kicinski, CD Projekt Red’s CEO, in a press release. “We’re very happy that our partners share our faith in The Witcher 3’s success and are ready to become fully engaged in providing promotion and sales support for the franchise in North America.”
Wild Hunt will still be published by developer CD Projekt Red. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is simply handling distribution, meaning CD Projekt Red maintains ownership of The Witcher IP and pays less upfront to get The Witcher 3 on store shelves while raking in higher royalties. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment previously handled publishing of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings‘ Enhanced Edition.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is expected to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime 2014.
