THE BUZZ: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has confirmed to Game Informer that it has made “work reductions” in its Seattle branch. Although Warner Bros. was reluctant to give an exact number, a tweet by user @georgeb3dr first made mention of it early yesterday afternoon saying:
‘Tis the season. Warner Brothers Games lays off 60ish across multiple Seattle studios. Good luck, guys.
No comment was given about what projects, if any, would be affected by the layoffs.
EGM’s TAKE: It’s always incredibly sad when a company has to layoff its employees, and around this time of year is just salt in a very open wound. Good luck to the staff members affected by this “work reduction”, and hopefully they can find another company to make use of their talents soon.
