Wasteland 2 game director Brian Fargo has announced that the post-apocalyptic role-playing title will finally be available on September 19.

The original Wasteland released more than 20 years ago back in 1988. “Official Wasteland 2 release date… September 19th,” Fargo wrote on Twitter. “The 20+ year wait is soon over.”

Wasteland 2 was successfully crowd-funded via Kickstarter back in 2012, with the game managing to raise $2.9 million. Following this, an Early Access version of the game was released via Steam in December 2013.

The game was originally scheduled to release in August, but developer InXile announced last month that it would be pushed back to September “due to fulfillment of the physical goods and discs.”
