Watch Connor’s Acceptance Speech, Had AC3′s Hero Won the VGAs ‘Character of the Year’

Check out Connor, né Ratonhnhaké:ton’s unused acceptance speech for the Spike TV Video Game Awards. It is appropriately terse and appropriately violent.

Assassin’s Creed III was nominated for Game of the Year, Best Action-Adventure Game, Best Xbox 360 Game, Best PS3 Game, and Best Graphics. Ratonhnhaké:ton/Connor was up for Character of the Year, losing out to Claptrap from Borderlands 2.

Admittedly, I’m not the biggest fan of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, but I will go on record saying that last award—Character of the Year—should have gone to Ratonhnhaké:ton/Connor. Is he terribly likable? No. But a strong, well-written character is not synonymous with likability.
