Watch Dogs ctOS Mobile app launching alongside full game tomorrow

Posted on May 26, 2014 AT 01:35pm

Watch Dogs’ free ctOS Mobile companion app will launch on iOS and Android devices tomorrow alongside the game itself, Ubisoft announced today.

The mobile app affords two ways to play with PC and consoler users: Race and Free Ride. While those playing the game proper race from checkpoint to checkpoint, mobile users hack virtual Chicago’s grid from their tablet device to cue blockers, instigate explosions, and summon helicopter-riding snipers and police forces. In Race, these checkpoints are spaced closer together and GPS is kept on for console/PC players. In Free Ride, however, the checkpoint distances are greater and GPS is turned off.

The ctOS Mobile app features 13 Race challenges and 13 Free Ride challenges, and also comes with a map generator that allows users to customize map details such as checkpoint spacing, weather, and time of day.

Watch Dogs—the game—launches tomorrow on Windows PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 worldwide. The Wii U version will follow later this year. Look forward to EGM’s Watch Dogs review early tomorrow.
