WB President talks Green Lantern sequel

Warner Bros. film group president Jeff Robinov is man with a vision. Even though Green Lantern is officially a flop after only grossing the film company $154 million worldwide ($114 domestic) and cost $200 million to make, Robinov still has hope for the franchise down the line and is looking ahead to a sequel. “We had a decent opening so we know there is an audience. To go forward, we need to make it a little edgier and darker, with more emphasis on action. And we have to find a way to balance the time the movie spends in space versus on Earth,” said Robinov in a statement. With GL director Martin Campbell’s contract supposedly being for a pair of GL movies though, Warner Bros. may have to buy him out first if the franchise is to go the direction Robinov would like to see.

Of course, GL may not be the only DC comics related project Warner Bros. has up its sleeve though as Robinov also mentioned the studio already has “a solid script” for The Flash and that he hopes to someday bring together all the DC heroes into a Justice League movie. With the fate of Wonder Woman outside of the comics medium constantly in limbo though, I wouldn’t hold my breath just yet in regards to a Justice League movie.
