Destiny 2 is offering two major expansions through a launch day Expansion Pass, and cover art for the DLC could hint at some of the people and places returning in the sequel.
The Expansion Pass will come bundled in the various special editions of the game, but it can also be picked up separately. The cover art depicts two different symbols for each of the DLC, and both symbols allude to lore from the first game that is making a return.
The first expansion is paired with the symbol of Osiris, a Mercury-dwelling Warlock that ran Destiny‘s Trial of Osiris multiplayer events. This likely suggests a return visit to Mercury at some point, and maybe even a new edition of the Trials of Osiris.
The second expansion bears the mark of Rasputin, a Russian AI Warmind designed to protect the planet from extraterrestrial threats. Missions in the original game had the Warmind in the role of both friend and foe, so while elaboration on its lore in the sequel’s second expansion seems inevitable, it is hard to say whose side it will be on.
Destiny 2 is slated to launch September 8th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The sequel’s first gameplay reveal can be checked out next month on May 18th.
