What God of War’s Original Creator Would Put Into God of War: Ascension

Posted on April 27, 2012 AT 01:59pm

David Jaffe—the original creator of God of War—is not working on the upcoming God of War: Ascension. But, if he were, Jaffe gives a few hints on what he’d put into the game.

“[I'd] bring in different myths, add a very robust and meaningful co-star (I think lots and lots can be done story wise with co-op play), and look to the Zelda structure as a jumping off point. Hyper violent Legend of Zelda? Yes please!”

Jaffe gives this answer in the latest issue of UK magazine games™, in response to the question of what he’d do were he involved with Ascension. As well, Jaffe expands a bit on the whole idea of adding co-op to the game.

“That could be cool. I could see that working. I’d love to see player one be Kratos and player two be this stupid annoying sidekick that – for some to be determined story reason – Kratos is stuck with for the whole adventure and in the end, once the main quest is over, Kratos just snaps the poor kid’s neck.”

You know what I’d love to see in God of War? Kratos having an annoying sidekick, like Justin Long or Michael Cera or Shia LaBeouf. God of War? More like God of Awesome!

(I’m totally being series. Or, maybe I’m not. And maybe Jaffe isn’t as well. Or maybe he is.)

If Kratos were to have a sidekick, who would you like to see? Let us know in the comments below!
