The total number of Pokémon traded via the Global Trade Station in Pokémon X and Y currently stands at around 90 million, and once this number reaches 100 million, the Fancy Pattern Vivillon will be gifted to all players.

The color and pattern of Vivillon’s wings usually varies depending on the player’s region, which has led to players around the world trading the Pokémon to get all possible combinations. “Now, an additional pattern of Vivillon has been discovered that breaks with tradition,” Nintendo writes. “To celebrate the 100 million Pokémon traded via the GTS, the Fancy Pattern Vivillon will soon be available!

“Currently, about 90 million Pokémon have been traded worldwide. Once we reach 100 million, you’ll be able to receive Fancy Pattern Vivillon via a special distribution event.”

Once the 100 million goal has been reached, Nintendo will reveal on Pokemon.com how players can obtain this exclusive Pokémon.
