Hot on the heels of the recent Destiny 2 reveal trailer, Activision and Bungie have announced when fans will be able to see the first real gameplay from the sequel.
In a blog post on Bungie.net, the studio explained its decision to focus on story out of the gate—in the form of two prerendered trailers—noting that gameplay will follow a little more than a month and a half from today.
“At this moment, our focus is the story we’re telling in Destiny 2. Up next, we’ll take a look at the gameplay. Your first opportunity to see Guardians in action will happen on May 18th. We hope to have you all in the audience for the gameplay reveal livestream,” the post reads. No word on what time of day the stream will kick off or what platforms it will be hosted on, but given the developer’s past behavior, you can expect it to hit morning or early afternoon Pacific Time and stream on Bungie’s Twitch channel.
Destiny 2 arrives September 8th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and, in a first for the series, PC.
