Injustice

The recent reveal of Injustice 2‘s first three DLC fighters came with a tease of six more to come, so the EGM Crew put our nerdy heads together in an attempt to crack the mystery.

The trailer for the game’s Fighter Pack 1 DLC revealed the Red Hood, Starfire, and Mortal Kombat’s Sub-Zero as the first three fighters coming to the game post-launch. Toward the end of the trailer, the three characters are shown in a lineup with six other DLC fighters silhouetted behind them, and we quickly got to work deducing who the hidden characters might be- along with the rest of the community. Below is the image found in the trailer, but we lit up the original a bit to make the silhouettes more distinct.

For starters, let’s pick out the most obvious guesses. The center character on the left side is almost certainly the villain Black Manta, while the center character on the right side looks just like Mortal Kombat’s Raiden—both given away by their particularly unique headwear. From there, it gets a little trickier.

Based on speculation from the community and EGM’s own expertise, these are our guesses for the identities of the six silhouetted characters going left to right:

  • Beast Boy from the Teen Titans (or possibly Ozymandias from Watchmen)
  • Black Manta, enemy of Aquaman
  • Catman, enemy of Batman (or possibly Nite Owl from Watchmen)
  • Azrael, ally of Batman (or possibly Darkseid’s son Kalibak)
  • Raiden from Mortal Kombat
  • Enchantress from the Suicide Squad

We could be totally off-base with most of these guesses, but there are a couple that we are more than confident about. There is no reveal date for the remaining six characters, nor do we know exactly when the three confirmed characters are dropping, so it may be a while before our deductive capabilities are put to the test.

Injustice 2 is slated to launch May 16th on Playstation 4 and Xbox One, with a mobile version dropping earlier on May 11th. Check out EGM’s extensive Injustice 2 coverage for more information and speculation on the fighter leading up to release.
