The existence of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s widely anticipated Zombies mode has been confirmed, not by developer Treyarch Studios, but by an unexpected tweet out of the E3 Coliseum.
The E3 Coliseum may have jumped the gun on this one, undercutting the potential Treyarch reveal of Black Ops 4‘s Zombies mode with a tweet revealing that the mode will be discussed at this year’s E3. According to the tweet, several creators of the series’ Zombies mode will be part of the E3 Coliseum panel, discussing what’s next for the mode.

While many would have sworn Zombies would show up in some capacity in Black Ops 4, this tweet is the only true assurance thus far that the survival mode will return. Activision and Treyach have yet to comment on the tweet, or release any supplementary information on the mode.
There has been little question that Black Ops 4 would feature some form of zombie-themed survival gameplay, but a single-player campaign has been another question. Following recent reports and publisher comments suggesting that the shooter will not launch with a story campaign this year, fans are still waiting on the official word of what Black Ops 4 is packing. All- or at least most- of our questions should be answered at Black Ops 4‘s official gameplay reveal, going down May 17th.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is slated to launch October 12th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
