Call of Duty

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s recent tease was for a trailer highlighting maps we’ve already seen, and while this wasn’t the shocker we expected, the new trailer reveals some pretty epic stuff.

A small teaser posted to the official Call of Duty Twitter account had us anticipating an upcoming Zombies reveal. The reveal was indeed Zombies related, although the GIF in the tease turned out to be not of a conventional zombie, but of a zombie tiger. Zombie tigers will be part of the game’s IX Zombies map, but despite that being the focus of the teaser, more of the full trailer was taken up by the game’s Titanic-based Voyage of Despair map.

Our four new heroes find themselves on the historical voyage of the Titanic, attempting to stop a mystic evil while saving the father of one of the squad. When everything inevitably goes south, the four must fend off the undead using a host of skills, firearms, and other weapons. Some of these new weapons are shown off in the trailer, like the Lovecraftian shotgun/sword combo, along with Voyage of Despair‘s connection to IX, where we see a shift to more close-quarters melee combat.

In addition to the two maps above, Black Ops 4 will launch with a third map called Blood of the Dead. This map will not support the same heroes as the other two adventures, instead bringing back our favorite four zombie killers from the previous installments, although that is the extent of what we currently know about the third map.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is slated to launch October 12th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
