Until physical media completely goes the way of the dinosaur, we’ll be stacking video game boxes and DVD cases on our shelves for many years to come. And with a new console on the horizon, all we can do without a release date and price is analyze every bit of new information we can get our hands on—like the box art for that console library.
Is it just us, or is there way too much blue and yellow going on here?
However, color palette aside, the design in question is very reminiscent of the Nintendo GameCube’s game cases. But still—blue and yellow? Maybe it’s not the official Nintendo design, and we’re overreacting. But since Nintendo is being so stingy with Wii U information, what else can we do?
If the color scheme is official, we can only guess that Nintendo wants you to be able to find your Wii U games quickly, without mixing them up with the original Wii titles.
Or maybe Canada’s playing a joke on all of us, those crafty, well-mannered rogues.
