An update for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate that allows GamePad-only play will go live April 15, Capcom announced today.

In addition to providing players the option to experience Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate solely on the Wii U GamePad, the update will also introduce cross-region play that connects North American and European servers.

The update will go live at 5pm PT on April 15.

Now’s the part where I shamelessly pimp my review of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, though it’s worth noting I played the 3DS version. I imagine the Wii U version will be a little more user-friendly with its controls, what with the second analog stick and all.
