Nintendo has put a stop to any hopes or rumors regarding a Wii U price cut in the near future by revealing that each console is still sold at a loss.
The company confirmed the news to GamesIndustry International, but failed to offer any specific figures. Of course this is a common strategy by console manufacturers, with most of the profit being made from software sales. However, after a couple of years the cost of the parts used to make the console usually reduce allowing price cuts to occur–no such luck for Nintendo.
It looks like people waiting for a price cut to jump on the Wii U train will be waiting quite a while.
