Nintendo has released a new system update for the Wii U which takes the console up to version 3.1.0 U.
The update changes the system’s standby functions so it will now ”regularly connect to the Internet when the Wii U is powered down to check for available SpotPass data or software and system updates,” according to Nintendo. Software updates will be installed while the system is powered down, and system updates will be installed next time the Wii U is turned on.
Nintendo added that the update also improves overall stability and ”other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.”
