Wii U’s Nintendo Land Reveals Metroid, Balloon Fight Attractions

Nintendo hasn’t been too secretive about the various games that will be represented in Nintendo Land‘s theme pack, but two more attractions have been unveiled. One isn’t a big surprise, but the other is a blast from the past.
Game Informer’s Wii U coverage in their upcoming issue leaked the info earlier this week, with plenty of screenshots.
According to Wii U Daily, both mini-games are called “Metroid Blast” and “Balloon Fight,” which shares the same name as the original 1984 arcade title and 1986 NES release:
One is “Metroid Blast”, and looks like it’s based on the “Battle Mii” mini-game prototype that was showcased at E3 back in 2011. The other minigame is called “Balloon Fight”, where players float through levels in a side-scrolling game and try to avoid traps, spikes, birds, etc. The object is to make it as far as you can in the level, while drawing wind gusts with your GamePad controller.
That same source also reveals that Nintendo Land will also feature pachinko games that can be played to add Nintendo-themed collectibles to a virtual collection within the game.
Nintendo Land is a Wii U launch title, but it’s still unknown where exactly in the lineup it fits with the other 30-plus games that still don’t have a set release date. Nintendo will supposedly reveal all on September 13th.
