Wii U’s success depends on a good launch line-up, Square Enix says

Square Enix worldwide technology director Julien Merceron knows that the Wii U received a mixed reaction at E3, but he still believes that the machine can become a strong platform – if the launch line-up is good enough.
“I’d say, don’t write off the console,” Merceron said, speaking to VideoGamer.com. “For every console it’s the same thing: one of the most important things is going to be the launch line-up. We see that every time there’s a great title shipping on PSP, the PSP sales go up, and every time there’s a great title shipping on 3DS, the 3DS sales go up.”
Merceron went on to say that the console’s price and line up of launch titles would be very important, as things like that would form the impression that people would have of the system.
