According to reports by Kotaku, the next iteration of Ubisoft’s Rainbow 6 series will not only test your ability with a gun, but the decisions that you make when using one.

Kotaku claims that the game will feature a “branching morality system”, one which “changes the outcome of key moments in the game based on the in-the-moment decisions the player makes.”

This will, they’re told, not only lead to multiple endings, but will change the game and storyline as it unfolds, means that “it will be impossible to play every level in the game on a single play-through.”

One example Kotaku gives is of a hostage situation, where players first play the role of the hostage who has be strapped with explosives. Later, the perspective shifts to being part of the Rainbow 6 team, where you have to make a decision not only about taking out the terrorists, but also the man who has now become a walking bomb.
