THE BUZZ: Blizzard has announced its 2012 Arena Pass for World of Warcraft, allowing players to compete against once another in a dedicated Arena sandbox.

From April 10, the pass will allow players to enter a special tournament using pre-made level 85 characters with epic gear. Purchasers of the pass will also be given an Armored Murloc pet and top players can earn the “Vanquisher” title for their live realm character.

Players with a pass can also access a level 90 arena with upgraded gear once they update their accounts with the Mists of Pandaria expansion. A price for the pass was not mentioned.

EGM’s TAKE: Many people complain that gear is the key to being good at PVP in MMOs, however this arena will place everyone on an even playing field with only pre-made characters in similar gear allowed. This means that everyone will get a fair shot at being the best and only skill will allow you to come out on top and earn your title. This is perfect for players looking for some real competition.
