During BlizzCon 2017, Blizzard officially unveiled the seventh expansion for its popular MMORPG World of Warcraft, titled Battle for Azeroth.
Following the events of Legion, the old rivalry between the Alliance and the Horde has reignited and turned into a full blown war, as the two factions fight for resources, land, allies, and more.
“Conflict is at the heart of the Warcraft saga, and in Battle for Azeroth, tensions that have been simmering for a long time escalate into all-out war,” Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment, said. “World of Warcraft players are incredibly passionate about the characters and factions they identify with in the game, and this expansion will make them prouder than ever to declare their allegiance to the Horde or to the Alliance.”
The expansion will introduce two new continents to explore, three new playable allied races for each faction, a new level cap of 120, the option to boost to level 110, new 20-player RTS-style Warfronts, and a new legendary neck piece that unlocks artifact armor.
As well as the above, the expansion also includes a new uncharted islands feature that lets players explore islands that feature random enemies, environments, and objectives. There will be four different difficulty settings, with the fourth being a PvP variant that pits two teams against each other and the environment.
A release date for the expansion was not announced.
