World of Warcraft systems designer Greg Street now working at Riot Games

Posted on January 14, 2014 AT 01:51pm

Former World of Warcraft lead systems designer Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street is now serving as lead game designer at League of Legends developer Riot Games, according to his LinkedIn profile.

At Blizzard, Street and his team worked design pertaining to World of Warcraft’s core mechanics outside of story design, level design, and quest design, including trade skills, class skills, items, and user interface. Street remained with the company for five years. In November, Street announced that he would be leaving Blizzard to pursue “a great opportunity for something new and exciting.”

Before his time at Blizzard, Street served a similar role at Ensemble Studios as a designer on the Age of Empiresseries. Prior to becoming a game designer, Street was a marine biologist research assistant professor at the University of South Carolina, quitting after his work became increasingly more repetitive and burdened by what he described as departmental politics.
