World of Warcraft‘s Battle for Azeroth pre-patch is scheduled to go live on July 17th, 2018.
The biggest and most noticeable change in the pre-patch is another stat squish for the game that will see damage numbers, health numbers, and stats reduced across the board. Players won’t be any weaker after the squish, but it makes the numbers a little more manageable.
As well as this, artifact’s have had all of their power and bonuses removed, and artifact power can no longer be earned. However, most of the passives from artifacts have been incorporated into each class, so not much power has been lost. New players can still get their artifact weapon, but it will level up automatically as players do, instead of the original grind.
Another big change in the pre-patch is the addition of War Mode. Following the update players will be able to toggle War Mode on or off via the Talents page. When turned on, other players out in the world will be able to attack and PvP talents will be enabled.
Finally, First Aid is being removed as a profession and other professions have had recipes split by expansion to make catching up more easier.
World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth launches August 14th, 2018.
