WWE ’13 Currently Not Planned For Nintendo Wii U, Says THQ
Posted on August 1, 2012 AT 11:48am
Despite its plans for a mutiplatform release on PS3, Xbox 360, and the Wii, annual wrestle-fest WWE ’13 isn’t headed to the Nintendo Wii U, according to THQ staffer Cory Ledesma. Considering how early THQ and Yuke’s go into development on the WWE series every year, it’s not a huge surprise that WWE ’13 couldn’t be ready for the Wii U GamePad.
MyNintendoNews relays the update, which was given out by Ledesma on his Twitter feed in response to a fan’s question.
THQ does have a few other titles invested in the Nintendo Wii U, though, with Metro: Last Light and Homefront 2 slated for the upcoming console in the 2013 calendar year.
Three other unannounced THQ titles were reportedly in development for the Wii U’s launch window, although the company’s recent financial issues pretty much suggest that those projects have been canceled. Darksiders 2 will also have a Wii U release of its own, which should move a few more units as Nintendo fans look for more “hardcore” titles.
