Much like the NFL making roster cuts before the season gets underway, sometimes the WWE feels they need to trim the fat in terms of their roster and who they think could be a future commodity for the company. Usually when we hear of these cuts though, they usually make more sense.
So far today the WWE has officially released diva Melina and wrestlers Chris Masters, David Hart Smith, and Vladimir Kozlov.
Divas Alicia Fox and Gail Kim and wrestler Drew McIntyre are also rumored to be headed for the chopping block although reports are now surfacing from several sources of Kim quitting on her own due to lack of exposure. Nothing solid has yet arisen in terms of Fox or McIntyre and I wouldn’t be surprised if these were just conjecture, especially considering the several story lines that have revolved around McIntyre as “the chosen one” and his decent length reign as Intercontinental Champ.
DH Smith is surprising considering his lineage as the son of the British Bulldog, but there are reports coming in that he is looking to pursue a MMA career a la Brock Lesner and get out of his father’s shadow.
