Xbox 360 Now Brings You Amazon Instant Video
Posted on May 29, 2012 AT 12:02pm
It looks like gaming consoles are one more step closer to replacing cable boxes, as the power of Amazon Instant Video is officially part of the Xbox Live suite. It’s time to make the big choice: rent new movies with this or wait for Netflix to catch up?
Amazon has announced that its massive library of “120,000 movies and TV episodes” is now viewable for Xbox Live Gold members, and all you’ll have to do is simply sync your Amazon account with the Xbox 360 app. It even supports the Kinect Sensor, too, so you can impress the family by commanding your entertainment set to play movies with simple (or overt) hand gestures.
Of course, cross-compatibility is also on the table here, as you can network between your console, Kindle Fire, and PC when you’re catching up on episodes of Perfect Strangers or that awesome Chronicle movie.
