Xbox 360 Reaches 80 Million Units Sold Worldwide

Posted on October 18, 2013 AT 05:40am

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox 360 has “reached 80 million consoles sold to retailers worldwide,” according to its internal data.

Now “sold to retailers” doesn’t mean that these consoles have actually reached customers yet, but retailers wouldn’t buy without demand, so I’m sure they will trickle down eventually. Microsoft also confirmed that, despite being beaten by PlayStation 3 in monthly sales last month, it still holds the title of best-selling console in the US for 2013.

The platform holder also announced earlier today that its Games With Gold promotion will continue beyond 2013, offering Xbox Live Gold subscribers two free games every month.
