Xbox Live Available In New Windows 8 Preview

THE BUZZ: Microsoft has launched a consumer preview of its new Windows 8 operations system, which includes Xbox Live functionality.
Xbox Live on Windows 8 allows you to access the Games marketplace to buy and browse Xbox 360 and Windows Phone 7 titles. Video and Music sections are also available. As expected your Xbox Live Avatar is standing around in the corner looking for attention as usual.
Windows 8 is expect to launch this Winter.
EGM’s TAKE: While being able to access Xbox Live from the PC is great, it doesn’t have too many uses. Any games you want you can just buy from your console anyway. The companion apps may come in handy for messaging friends and seeing who’s online but you can do that from Xbox.com anyway. It’s basically just an excuse to put something fancy into the operating system and to try and convince Xbox Live users to upgrade to Windows 8.
