Microsoft has announced that it will be removing the Xbox Live Gold paywall this weekend, allowing Silver members to enjoy all the perks of being a Gold member for free. It’s worth noting that this doesn’t include Games with Gold downloads or Deals with Gold discounts.
Starting this Friday, May 23 at 12:00 p.m. GMT Silver members will become Gold, and be able to access online multiplayer in titles such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4, and GTA Online, as well as free-to-play titles like Warface and World of Tanks. The event will run until 11:59 p.m. GMT on May 25.
“Take your Xbox 360 online between the 23rd and 25th May and enjoy the benefits of Xbox Live Gold,” Microsoft wrote on the event page. “Experience unrivaled multiplayer gaming on Xbox 360.”
As well as this, Warface players will be able to earn double XP and VP this weekend. “Team up with friends or annihilate foes in the explosive free to play shooter from Crytek with Xbox Live Gold. This free-to-play shooter is doubling XP and VP rewards for this weekend, so you’ll level up and unlock new gear twice as fast. Make sure you don’t miss out.”
