Competitive pricing for Xbox One digital games ‘on the agenda’ for Microsoft

Posted on January 24, 2014 AT 11:44am

Competitive pricing for digital download versions of Xbox One games is something that Microsoft will investigate, according to a series of reddit comments from Xbox’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb.

Jumping into a thread on /r/XboxOne started by user “Bocephis” to voice frustration about how Titanfall digital pre-orders don’t include $10 in Xbox Live credit like physical pre-orders do, Hryb pointed out that these arrangements come from retailers, not Microsoft. Bocephis’ biggest frustration, however, had to do less to do with perks and more to do with Microsoft’s silence on the matter.

“We are way aware of this and many of the concerns of the community—we have some great stuff planned for Xbox One this year (and beyond),” Hryb responded. “As soon as we can share some of the goodness…we will.”

When asked specifically about competitive pricing for digital downloads, Hryb said that it  “is indeed on the agenda.”
