Microsoft is rolling out the May system software update for Xbox One.

The first new feature introduced in this update is the ability to see which platform players on your friends list are playing on. Following the update, unique icons will be displayed next to friends to show if they are on Xbox One, PC, or mobile.

Also introduced in this update is the new message requests feature, which will prioritize messages from friends and anyone you want to communicate with. Messages from people you don’t know will now be separated into a secondary tab called message requests.

“As part of this update, unfortunately all previous group messages will be lost in the transition and will require manual action to archive,” Microsoft adds. “If you want to back up any previous group messages, you can copy/paste them from Xbox.com for a limited time. Your messages with individual users will not be impacted.”

Finally, May’s update improves sorting in My Games & Apps by making it so “a,” “an,” and “the” will no longer be used when sorting by A-Z. An example given by Microsoft is “The Witcher,” which will now come under “W” instead of “T.”
