XCOM Developer Diary Offers a Plethora of Details

THE BUZZ: 2K Games has released a brand new developer diary for their upcoming XCOM reboot, offering a lot of juicy details about the game.

The diary goes into details about the background behind XCOM and why the team decided to reboot the franchise, telling the origins of the original story. The team also discuss characters that will appear in the game, along with what kind of quests and tasks you will be asked to perform. The First Person Shooter is scheduled to release March 6th 2012 in North America, and three days later Internationally, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

EGM’s TAKE: It’s a brave move completely changing a franchise and the developers run the risk of alienating its original fans, hopefully they will be able to create a stellar game and avoid this.
