Monolith Soft’s Wii JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles is coming exclusively to the newly announced 3DS model, and will not be compatible with older models, Nintendo has announced.
The “New” 3DS and 3DS XL models were officially announced earlier today, and feature a new C-Button, based on the GameCube’s C-Stick, two new shoulder buttons, NFC reader support, and a faster CPU. You can read all the details here.
This new CPU is the reason that Xenoblade Chronicles will only be compatible with these new models. Little else is known about the game, but it is scheduled to release at some point during 2015.
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata mentioned that several other new model exclusive titles are also in the works.
