Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, Team Ninja’s upcoming Ninja Gaiden title that’s actually a gaiden, is coming to Windows PC through in addition to home consoles, Tecmo Koei announced today.
First revealed in September 2012, Yaiba was only announced for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. According to a press statement released by Tecmo, the PC version will launch alongside its console counterparts Q2 2014.
“Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is an impressive project led by the expertise of Team Ninja’s Yosuke Hayashi and Comcept’s Keiji Inafune, with the goal of creating a thrilling new experience for fans,” Tecmo Koei America senior vice president Amos Ip said in the press release. “We are extremely pleased to offer Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z on PC through Steam, giving us the ability to reach as many gamers as possible with their action-packed creation.”
Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z tells the story of Yaiba Kamikaze, a ninja slain by series protagonist Ryu Hayabusa. After his death, Yaiba is resurrected through cybernetics and unleashed to pursue Ryu in a quest for revenge. The cel-shaded Ninja Gaiden spinoff is being developed by Keiji Inafune’s Comcept, Team Ninja, and Lost Planet 3 developer Spark Unlimited.
