Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi has stated that Gran Turismo 6 could evolve into Gran Turismo 7 by the time it sees a release on PlayStation 4.

He reiterated during a Gamescom panel that the team has an idea for the PlayStation 4 version of the game in mind, but it could take some time to arrive. Yamauchi added that there is a distinct possibility that it could be called Gran Turismo 7 by then.

Gran Turismo 6 is set to release exclusively on PlayStation 3 on December 6.
